Blue Rain ECOfest
The Blue Rain ECOfest returns, bigger, better and busier, to take place during Syracuse Artsweek, Friday-Sunday, July 29-31, 2011.
We’re expanding to a three-day event, in order to give our many vendors and exhibitors more hours of meaningful contact with YOU, our many patrons, to offer another day of entertaining and eclectic music and dance, and to coincide with the schedule of the other fine festivals populating downtown Syracuse that weekend. Hanover Square and City Hall Commons courtyard will fill with great music, dance, food, drink, vendors and exhibitors, all joining to celebrate learning about living well while saving the planet.
This year Educational Sponsor Greening USA will host three days of sustainability educational programming in the City Hall Atrium, including City of Syracuse green programs (Friday), the Sustainability Academy (Saturday), and Onondaga County Save the Rain exhibits (Sunday).
Plus, Green Drinks Syracuse, the sustainability-focused happy hour, will take place during the BlueRain ECOfest Saturday, July 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Prime Steakhouse (101 E Water St). Hosted by 40 Below’s “It’s All Here” campaign, Syracuse First, the Sustainable Upstate Network (SUN), and Leadership Greater Syracuse, this Green Drinks brings together green businesses and residents interested in growing a green Central New York.
The restaurants surrounding the festival will again be offering organic, locally produced cuisine and beverages. This festival is just a stone's throw from many other great events as well!
It's still centrally located in the center of the Syracuse Artsweek corridor, the combined visual-and-performing arts festival with a proven audience that exceeds 50,000, also offering the Northeast Jazz and Wine Festival, an international jazz festival, and the Syracuse Arts and Crafts Festival, a juried arts festival, plus a huge Public Art Walk that connects the various sites and includes dozens of visual art and literary activities, “Art in Action” being made right on the street, public-art projects by and for children, and visually projected art.
Don’t miss it! And don’t miss any of Syracuse Artsweek either!
